    Default My new hat

I just wanted to share a pic of my new hat. It's from a bear I took in 2008 out of Fairbanks. Denali Fur and Leather, in Wasilla, did the work.

That hat just gave me another reason to shoot a spring blackie. Very cool looking.

From what I see in the picture he could be taken as a color phase bear even without it

Again, looks cool, outfitted with a flintlock, a possibles bag and some buckins you'd be the bell of the rendezvous.

A rough how much? Well I supplied the tanned bear hide and the hat cost me around $325. I was told that the next one will be more expensive due to the amount of work involved. A large portion of the expense was the taxidermy work on the face.

The orange chest patch makes this fur one of a kind! Bet it keeps the neck warm too.... Is that attached by velcro?
