Thread: Triple Crown

    Default Triple Crown

Finally made it out to big lake yesterday. I wish I knew what I was missing! I would have been there every weekend this winter. Started slow in about 30-35 FOW, moved closer to shore around noon, into 20 feet or so. Wasn't long before I had a nice 18" rainbow on the ice. Took some pics and threw that sob back. Lost one, don't know what it was, then hooked into a big ol' 26" char. That thing was nasty, had some parasites in it's gills, all gouged up on one side, crapping everywhere, making gnarly croaking noises.. That thing was sick. Took some pics, threw him back. Getting just about ready to go 3 o' clock or so, and I pulled a 30 plus inch burbot up! Had to throw that bad boy back as well - regs on big lake.

And that's what I call a triple crown, all on a little jig with a curly tail!

This thing was gnarly looking, makes you wonder how old fish like this are.
