Thumbs up Heading out to Whittier (5/12)

As posted in the Boating section:

Heading out to Whittier for the first time this season. Planning to Drop pots, then sight see/bear scouting with some fishing thrown in as well (of course).

Not planning on an overly long day; more just getting out to run the boat.

Anyone else going to be out there?

I will be monitoring channel 71; give me a shout. Call sign 'Gambler'.

Here's hoping for a 'no-complications' first run of the year.

    Default Me too!!!

I'll be out scouting and dropping pots this weekend (Sat and Sun) as well. Call sign is "Defiance". I'll be sporting a 22ft Glass Pilot House Boat w/150 HP.
If anyone's got any suggestions where to scout, PM me.

Would like to head south thru Culross and check out the Port Nellie Juan Area.

Weather reports also say expect sleet/snow/rain, sounds pretty typical to me.

My plan is to head out tomorrow afternoon and stay overnight and head back in Saturday before the weather pics up. I was planning on heading in the direction of Valdez but with the weather up I am going to stick it close in just in case. Making final call in the morning based on any changes. Bummer.......

Default I am planning on heading out

saturday morning. I think I would be rushed to leave tonight. Dman if i can remember I will try and give you a shout and see where you are. Saturdays weather is looking good during the day. Coming back in we should be rolling with seas instead of fight them head on. Well have fun everybody and save some shrimp for me out there.
