Exclamation Denali Highway Trail Report 3/30/13. Cantwell to MP68.

Snow has piled up here in the last week on the Denali Highway. Riding has been excellent this spring! We had a fairly cold March, so there has been very little snow melt so far this spring. Several feet of snow and powder remain throughout the area. I expect to be riding well into late April at this point! We have been doing several rides up to the East Fork of the Susitna Glacier, to a cave up there. Nice ride, and awesome scenery. Also, we have trails punched in from Alpine Creek to the Watana Canyon, Butte Creek, Jay Creek, and the area's around Deadman Lake.

Allen, with the Denali Highway Trails Club, groomed the highway a few days ago from Maclaren River Lodge to MP 100 (near Brushkana Creek) and I'm sure he has groomed out to Paxson.

We seen our first spring bear track last week! He was on a moose kill in the Jay Creek area.

In other words, don't put your snow machines away yet! Still alot of good riding to be had this spring! We have a few guests staying with us and riding over to Arctic Man.

    Have fun out there!

Snow is epic north and south of the highway between 64 an 58.

Doug used the word epic. That means snow of biblical proportions.
If cave men had been trophy hunters the Wooly Mammoth would be alive today

It was killing me going through there with my hunting gear and sled. Yes, you can powder turn and jump a fully loaded Bearcat with three rifle cases on board towing a UHMW sled. It was only a few turns and a couple jumps, but it sure made me smile

Another foot or two of fresh snow has fallen, and the sun has come out! Great riding to be had! Incredible riding out here now!
