Thumbs up Trail Report/ Alaska's Winter Park Cabins/ Willow 3/28/13

Willow has got some deep snow!!!

Ok here the scoop! We got 29" of new snow last Friday and Sunday and 1 more inch today.
Some mild winds settle it and now sitting on around 4ft of Snow pack total!
Temp right now of 26 degress and the place is awesome to be riding at. The Cruse Snow road is all the way though to the Yentna and is a blast to ride with powder swamps all along the way.
Saves about 8 miles off river running and is great to haul all your chit!!
It's a great time to take the family out to ride with the temps and all the daylight!

Remember we have nice warm Cabins waiting for you.

    Come have fun in Willow.
We will be looking for you on the trails!
Also keep your tags current as the Rangers have been checking at the main kiosok!

Willow to Yetna. Bulldozed in this winter to geta gas rig in there.
Last time I was out there it was all sawdust chips. Might be better with the new snow.

according to the request filed with DNR, it starts near the mouth of the willow creek and hits the Yentna just above the Big Bend.

Thanks for report... and all the work.
Hopefully the snow stays for another weekend or two 'cause I'm stuck home this one.

Ahhh. A couple weeks ago we were exploring Willow trails out that way and ended up at Willow Creek Campground. Saw this incredible looking groomed trail heading out of there, but didn't have time to explore it. Looks like a GREAT run! Is that going to be a permanent addition to the Willow Trail system for future years?

Is it obvious where to go from Willow Creek Campground going across the Braided Susitna River?

Just came in from the cruz trail. Lots of exposed chips in 1/4 and 1/2 mile stretches, won't be around too much longer with all the daylight heating up the trail.
However, the Big Su was great and the off trail riding is excellent. Lots of powder, warm temps, and tons of sun.
