    Default Best Anchorage riding?

I just got a Mtn Cat, but I've never rode in this area before. I know we haven't got snow in awhile but just wondering where the best local riding is right now? Thanks

What radius of Anchorage do you consider local? Anything south of town at sea level is boilerplate. Anything in Turnagain Pass is likely tracked out.

Calling for snow this weekend, though.
We do not go to the green woods and crystal waters to rough it, we go to smooth it. We get it rough enough at home; in towns and cities; in shops, offices, stores, banks anywhere that we may be placed

There is virtually no riding within the MOA excepting Chugach State Park, but the park is open so infrequently as to be not worth mentioning. Go North! Willow/Petersville is your closest area with good snow. Eureka is pretty good too.

Road trips are a fact of life for Anchorage sledders.

I knew I'd have to go a ways. I think we are gonna try Eureka on Sunday.

Please let me have a report on the conditions when you have time...I am coming off the slope Easter Sunday..I am hoping for some good riding that continuing week ( I have been in Prudhoe since Febuary 15th).... I live in Palmer so I'm praying the conditions are in Eureka are good.

If you get back Sunday I think there should be plenty of good snow to be had. I went to Eureka on Saturday. The snow was falling but it hadent accumulated much yet. From the sound of it we should have stayed closer to home. Places around Big Lake got about 12" on Friday night!
We have a cabin rented on Nancy Lake this weekend so I hope it dosen't all melt.

We rode near Susitna Landing last Saturday with fresh snow and blue skies. It was pretty dang nice. Should be great this weekend too.
I would expect Nancy Lake to be very good, or maybe better than that!

Skipped Eureka, went out West of Talkeetna and it was EPIC! Right in the middle of all that fresh snow.
