    Default Shipping vehicles

I'm having a hard time finding anything on the forum with information about shipping vehicles. If I'm missing it, would someone mind pointing me to it, or if it doesn't exist please provide your experience and recommendations. Figured starting this thread would make it easier for people to find in the future. Thanks

Go to "Search this Forum" and type in Northland, Carlile, or Span Alaska. That will give some info on some of the shipping companies that serve Alaska.

My dad used them for a couple of his moves up from the states. It worked out easy for him for dropping off in Seattle/Tacoma and then driving the second truck up. They had no issues with the vehicle shippment. The house hold goods were self loaded in a container in their shipping yard from a UHaul. Dad did have to find a service for dropping a container of house hold goods and used Weaver Brothers to do that. If done fast enough they did not have to pay rent on the chasis.

I did some calling around. Looks like they are all pretty close in price. Not worth it for me to wait weeks to save a couple hundred dollars. Hopefully this will help someone else in the future. FYI this is a quote for a Toyota Tacoma. But, for most of them is doesn't seem to matter what vehicle it is when they ship it on a barge. Most of the companies charge $70-80/ 100 lbs of household goods you pack in the vehicle.
