3/0 Gamakatsu octopus circle, green yard and a bead. I think the bead gives it just the right float in the swing

I use a 2 or 3/0 hook with purple or black yarn when Im out of the secret weapon. Im not giving that one up because it will produce the elusive "bite" from a sockeye.

    Default Favorite Fly for Sockeye

First and only fly I ever tied myself. A guy named Derek showed me this one and I caught 8 Sockeye with it before I lost it. I don't know if Sockeye "bite", but all of the fish I caught with this one were hooked inside the mouth.

Um that looks like some thing you would use for silvers! Personally I like small flies for reds things that look like shrimp……….which could be anything to a fish……...

C6 - Excuses Excuses Excuses! :-) Oh and thank you as always for your service. You know as we the people continue to re-invent what is and what was concerning the "Bite" for Sockeye AKA Reds no one ever mentions Teeny Nymphs. They still work and Jim does have his favorite colors for Reds. Back in the day if you were out and about like say in the Bristol Bay region 9 times out of 10 you would find "da peeps" tossing Tenny's for Bows, Grayling and Reds. Jim uses a darn sturdy chemically Sharpened hook and it is easy to make.

What is your favorite Sockeye Fly? - Alaska's Fly Fishing Network
http://www.alaskaflyfish.net/flyfish...?p=12252...Nov 7, 2006 – I have heard that this Teeny Leach (Hot Pink) is a good Sockeye fly, but what is your favorite?

    Just Sayen!
