Fantastic news! I'm probably heading out with my old man sometime next week, and we had been considering whether to make the long drive to Paxson or whether to stay closer with a Eureka or Cantwell trip. Tok Thai Food pretty much seals the deal - we must pass through Glennallen.

Hallelujah! Thanks for the great news modelan. Wasn't planning on a trip that way for a few weeks but now I am skipping petersville and heading to summit lake just so I can stop at Tok Thai. Probably both directions on he trip.

Wow! This must be some place!!!!! Are the waitresses naked or something?? Sounds like it will be worth the drive
from Trapper Creek on my day off in the summer.
If we all agreed....this would be no fun

No waitresses - it's a food wagon manned by a quirky old man and his wife, who does the cooking. It's the best Thai food in the state, hands down.

Not sure what Glennallen would be without it!!! New motto for Glennallen should be, "Fuel prices hurt going in, but Tok Thai will ease them going out"!!

That's a bold statement... You should try the Pad Thai at the "fast food restaurant" in Dutch Harbor near where the Elbow Room used to be. I have never had Pad thai as good... Including out of state.

OK, let's say that it's the best Thai food that I've tried so far, and certainly the best food option in Glennallen.

Welcome to Glennallen, home of the $200 Fill Your Tank and Belly Special.

Welcome to Glennallen, home of Becky, who gives us caribou.

Welcome to Glennallen, better than stopping in Tazlina.

Welcome to Glennallen, if you turn around now, it's only seven days back to Kentucky.

And, yes, the TOK THAI food is AWESOME! Just make sure you order it after the buying fuel as it will help you forget how much you spent at the pump as you are eating it!

When I am in Glennallen during the summer for Pipeline work, I eat there at least 5 times a week. I was bummed they were closed a month ago when we went up for caribou. And the price is not bad at all, especially considering the amount of food you get and the fact youre in Glennallen.

The old dude who runs it loves talking about fishing! Specifically King fishing on the Klutina.

And the daughter has her own TOK THAI trailer in TOK now, so I do believe we should be the "REAL" TOK THAI! HA HA HA! Don't think the trailer is open yet, but food is good too!

Now we know this story is BS. There are no fish in the Klutina.

Yup, The Elbow room was a great time back in the day. I have a vintage jacket from there, from a night I don't quite remember...

Heard that Unisea bought them out and closed 'em down. Don't know how true that is though.

Elbow Room is for sale last I heard. Probably not the liquor license.

The amount of lines laid out on that bar could fill a grain silo.

Back to topic...Always looked at that purple trailer while filling up with gas. Usually road weary and hungry.
Next time I will try the Thai rather than a microwave hot pocket.

What is the recommendation for a vege loving meat eater?

My favorites are number 11 and number 14 on her menu.

I'm not sure about Tok Thai. Every time I have eaten there the old guy won't leave us alone. The last time I ate there the guy tried to tell me that the best predator rifle for salvaging pelts is a 30-06. He also told me that there was a 12' grizzly shot in Copper Center. You have to pull a mile down the road before you can eat or the guy will not leave your truck window. I thought it was harmless the first few times but then I got tired of it. Also, the last time we ate there my buddy vomited all the way home.

The food is delicious, so I can't argue with that point. His wife does an amazing job at cooking, and the portions are very generous for what you pay.
