Default Garmin 740 Combo Pack Opinions

West Marine has the Garmin 740 combo (fish finder/GPS) on sale for $2000 with the radar dome. Anyone have any experience with it? Or, is there a better route to go for about the same money. Thanks in advanced.

I have one and love it. The 740S is a better upgrade from the normal GPS units. The touch screen is handy when plotting your route and the radar is really nice when the fog rolls in. $2000 is a good price too.

I agree, 500.00 less than what I paid.

I also upgraded to the Garmin 740 and am waiting to receive it. I included the radar, starter kit, hull mounted dual frequency transducer and an external GPS antenna. I know it has an internal, but I have had internals fail before just when I needed them.

A friend of mine from Fairbanks bought his first and he loves it. He is a helicopter pilot and uses instrument almost daily in all types of weather so I trust his opinion without question.
