By god it better be a man or woman that positively contributes to society!!
We do not go to the green woods and crystal waters to rough it, we go to smooth it. We get it rough enough at home; in towns and cities; in shops, offices, stores, banks anywhere that we may be placed

The Mat-Su chapter has a Tok Management sheep tag (DS102) for auction on eBay starting march 1.

So this tag goes to the highest bidder, or do you buy a raffle ticket and hope to win?

Both. The Fairbanks Chapter appears to be doing their tags through a raffle, the Mat-Su is through an Ebay Auction.

Does anyone know if Fairbanks has published a maximum number of tickets available? I believe Alaska gaming permits require this to be disclosed in order to calculate odds.

That's the one. Thanks. Does the State get a share of the $$ raised in these auctions?

I believe that a minimum of 90% of the funds go back to the state.

What a coincidence--I was just looking for this information yesterday and was coming up with very little. It almost seemed like they were hiding the information--glad you posted this Warrior! I was mostly interested in finding how much was generated by our governors tags--at least Happy's link is a start--Thanks Happy!

Well its good to know that some of my favorite tags can be bought, as 20+ years of putting in for them have resulted in 20+ years of frustration. All i need now is a butt load of cash to go buy one. Got to beleive that Unimak tag will sell for well over $10k. Bison as well? Does anyone know the process that is used to secure one of these govenors tags for an auction?

    tlingitwarrior,

the program/process is defined here (see link). Yes, 90% goes to the State in most cases (excluding bison and etolin elk if I read it correctly)
