my USUAL Alaska trip
ain't gonna happen this year. It typically would involve a trip to SE Alaska (Sitka, Gustavus), obtain sea kayaks for 4 guys, stuff them full of food/gear for 5 days, paddle to a remote NFS cabin, then fish out of our yaks all day. Catch lots of pinks, and even some small halibut (Icy Strait). Anyhoo, the yak buddies can't make the trip this year, and I ain't about to hit the ocean solo, so I thought about plan 'B'. I thought I might scoot up to Anchorage for about 3-4 days, and find an air service to drop me at a remote river to fish for silvers/pinks/reds. Can anybody suggest to me a location that would be productive, yet uncrowded, and perhaps have a cabin/tent and small boat from which I could torment some salmon? Who might offer such a package?
