Default Goat Permit DG478 South Road System

I am awarded a goat permit on the south road system.
Has anyone got any insight on this particular "road system" hunt for me please?

Call John Crye at ADF&G in Kodiak. He will point you in the right direction.

Agreed. John Crye will certainly answer any questions you might have. South Road system is an awesome hunt and you have a lot more options without worrying about land access rights.

John Crye is a wealth of info!!! As is BRWNBR!! Its a way fun goat tag to have. Hunted it twice (I never had a tag) but have helped haul 3 goats of the mountains down there. The smallest was just under 9.25" and the largest was 9.75", great tag...wish I was ever lucky enough to draw it myself.

I fly a lot around Kodiak and kalsin ridge has lots of goats. I don't know the numbers I bet crye would but there is a ton of goats up there.

access with kalsin is a bit tougher due to the new land ownership enforcement there, its a nice hunt though. the ridge up by lake miam has some nice billies on it and you can four wheeler into there.
