Default Where to learn about crossbows ?

I have two compounds, an old Browning Cobra and an almost as old Bear bow. Plus I have a hand made English Longbow.

I have been thinking about buying a crossbow for years... But really do not know much about which brands are better or even what to look-for or avoid...

Any suggestions as to a good place to start learning about them???

YEAH, I guess I should have mentioned that I was not interested in hunting with one, just something to goof around in the field below the house where I have a wall of hay bales. Although reading up on them a little, I think I might have a hard time cocking one of the darn things at my age.

It's kind of like bow companies, with the new popularity there are lots of good choices out there... Barnett, ten point,Horton, Parker, pse... They are pretty fun to shoot and regardless of what others think they help the elderly and disabled get a chance in some archery areas to get out there and hunt...

Don't know much about this site but here is a link to a crossbow forum...

I too was looking for info and I found youtube to be the most helpful. I was looking to buy one for my daughter to use in an archery only area that allows crossbows. I bought a Barnett Jackal.
