Default Fiberglass and Gelcoat Repair Person

    Hi,

I'm looking for suggestions for someone who does marine fiberglass/gelcoat repairs on the Kenai Peninsula. I would appreciate any leads.

I don't have a major project, just filling in holes after installing a radar arch and other holes left from boat modifications I've made. Nothing structural.

    Thanks,
    John

It's pretty easy to do it yourself. If the holes are on verticle surfaces, it's a bit tricky keeping the resin from running, but on horizontal surfaces, put masking tape on the back of the hole, mix up some resin/catalist, add some chopped glass to thicken and fill the holes. When cured sand smooth then apply some gelcoat to cover it up.

If the holes are say 1/2" or larger, I'd likely sand the backside and add a patch of matte cloth extending an inch or so beyond the edge of the hole for reinforcment.
