I was just wondering if you all had any suggestions on were would be a good place to set up a gut pile?
i have access to a very large marsh surrounded by thick spuce and some burned area from a forest fire.

Dump it in the thickest portion of the spruce adjacent to the marsh. Canids will be traveling the marsh and wind your bait pile. Once they locate your bait pile and start making trails to it, start hanging multiple snares on each trail. Good luck!

I wouldn't hide it in too thick of stuff you want the birds to find it to help the wolves find it. Then make sure your snares are will back in the brush or spruce. I leave a main trail going into and out of the bait pile unsnared one to make replensihing the bait easy and two it gives them some confidence they get caught sneaking in or sneaking out after having a good look around and maybe a free meal. It also helps if a moose shows up they will walk the main trail and hopefully avoid your snares
meats meat don't knock it till you try it
