    Default I'm now a member!!!

I picked up my new HB yesterday!!!! Upon inspection I couldn't believe my eyes!! It is the Kevlar version. The boat is 2 years old and has been in the water twice. I got the boat, 9.9 yamaha, trailer, custom cover, Ash oars for $4500.00 and couldn't be happier. I will try to post some pictures late when I get home over the weekend.

What can I say...............I can't wait til we get moved.

Very nice indeed. Time on the water will amaze you with the things that can be done with a canoe.

Nice score.... Could counter-bore splash rail holes and turn those bolts/screws around. Use countersink/flush head w/washer on the inside, threads /nut in the counter-bore.....nothing sticking out....cleaner installation....

    Wow that is beautiful,
That red and tan is sharp.
I really like the battens for the cover.
    And all the tie downs.
    What a great boat.

And even more so when you're on the shore, fully loaded. They'll see you jump up on the bow of that canoe and gunnel-walk your way clear back to the captain's chair - and it barely tipped just a tiny bit as you did.

You hit a homerun with this purchase.

One other thought, I view the added lashdowns (rope loops) as a distraction and potentially a snagging/tangle potential for rods ect. I would either rework that to take most of the slack of out the loops by threading a single line through the holes stem to stern, leading to a tighter and neater functional design. Further, unless you are packing that thing to the gunwhales, I might be tempted to remove that lashing option altogether and find some plastic cap plugs to press into the holes.

    tboehm ....

That buy was a steal. Great boat.

For tie-downs on my HB, I used 1" SS D-rings bolted to the hull via the bolts attaching the splash rail. Simple, no fuss installation. Used locking shear-nuts, which are lower profile than the standard nylocks.

I'm envious of your hooped cover. Very cool.

Beautiful boat bought for a great price. I think I would utilize you cover with a zipper modification for motoring and staying dry, Very nice setup.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I was very fortunate and thank the good lord for it. I picked up some seats today and plan on ordering a trolling motor mount and looking for something as a bow anchor system as well. I got the plates today and the temp registration and numbers so I'm legal. Hoping for a maiden voyage on wed.

I used a similar setup for salmon fishing and can say the 9.9 will troll nicely on the HB.

For seats I used the Fish On swivel seats with removal bracket, the wood on the existing seat is quite thin so I epoxied a additional piece of plywood to the existing seat then used lag bolts to put Fish On seat brackets on.
