I'd mostly agree with that - I've got some plans I'm pretty excited about regardless of the draw - but I can't deny getting excited about the coming results.

ya drawing a tag is just like a bonus, almost gives you a viable excuse to do the hunt!! its like a hunting coupon!!

Hoping for a brown bear and/or a goat tag. Going to do moose, caribou and sheep regardless of draw outcome.

What! You mean you don't have a big "in" with a bud at Fish and Game that will guarentee you a tag? Just kidding but you'll see stuff like that after the drawing. I hope I get moose on Ft Rich.

I was wondering when someone would post about the drawing. I am hoping like everyone else for the bison tag, but I would like to get the antlerless moose tag in Homer, or the kenai mtns caribou, A sheep tag would be great too, or maybe I will finally draw that muskox I keep putting in for, Kodiak brown bear would be great too, The goat hunt would be fun.....I think I will be happy with anything, I have been putting in for so long with no luck that one day its going to catch up and I am going to draw everything in one year.

YEP! coupon is such a good deal you'd have to make excuses not to use it!

Got my fingers crossed for a familiar goat tag and maybe F&G will throw in a Tok Sheep too.
Otherwise plans B and C go into effect.

The anticipation is killin me this year.

Hardest part is holding out on booking air taxis for Plan B til the results drop.

Kotton talked me into Etolin elk this year.... It would be a reason to go see a part of AK I have not yet visited.... I'm really hoping for a unit 14 sheep tag but hey dreaming is the fun part right? Bison would be sweet. I put in for the tier 1 caribou so no worries bout that....

Ha come on now, hunting with me ain't that bad!But TWB I'd go ahead and book a trip before the 10,000+ sheep hunters that don't draw go ahead and call the air services after the draw when they find out they got nodda. Can allways make the deposit for 2014 if your so lucky to pull a tag.

I never plan on pulling a tag though.Never waisted one when so lucky to get one like alot of people I know! But I plan on hunting every harvest ticket this great state gives away for free then adjust the game plan when I can't believe my eyes my name is on the list.Works great every year!Just glad my dad brought me to live in this great state were you can hunt almost every species every year.

And huntfishak sure hope one of us pulls that elk tag!!Never been in that country yet either but from what I do know better get in sheep shape buddy.Looks like it's gonna be a very hard alpine hunt then if we are lucky there is gonna be alot of meat haulin to get done.Crossing fingers!Just hope it's not a year were I win the lottery and pull 4+ tags like some lucky few do,sure will put a wrench in my plans but you know I couldn't waist em!Hurry up febuary!

Good Luck Kotton! If you win that permit I'll talk shop with ya. The best classification I could put it into is a goat hunt for Elk. It's not that the elk are in the cliffs it's that you'll have to traverse them to get to em.

It's a high odds draw. You should have high hopes.

Man do I have dreams! My hunts so far:

Black bear here on POW this spring
    Alpine deer in August
Columbia Deer in October in Oregon
    Sitka Rut on POW
Mule Deer/Whitetail in Alberta in November
    Ohio deer in November/December
Michigan Deer in December (strictly a deer camp, I won't hunt)

Now if I draw a bison or musk ox that MAY be enough hunting this year!

Your working on a North American Deer slam there Mike. Throw in a Couse (sp?)deer and you'll have something there. That's sweet! Good luck.
