Turnagain Pass has snow. If it is still open Palmer Creek is a safe place for learning. There is only about 5" in downtown Hope. Looked like 36" in the pass.

went to lost lake today Fire House trail icy to the point of using rope and hand pulling the sleds up the first few corners. very wind blown and semi hard. went over by primrose trail and snow was a little better but that trail is also icy and rough! wind was howling pretty good all day.

Turnagain is about the same quality right now and half the drive.

Placer and Twentymile are still closed. In general, Lost Lake would be a bad place to take a novice on a short track.

First 11 miles are on a two lane highway, If you don't do High-marking There are lots of safe little hills in the back.

If it is open, call Forest Service. There is a gate. And they will ticket you, if you go around the gate.

Ended up at johnson pass trail. It is rough - too many thwappers been in there......the snow sucked, light sucked. I have checked that off my need to go list for riding - will have to hike it this summer though.

I'll be heading north next weekend I think.

Well Palmer Creek road has barely any snow. Got a little deeper a mile or two up the road but not enough to make me stay.
