Default Looking for charter advice - Kodiak - August

Planning to come up in mid-August for 3-4 days saltwater fishing. Hoping for some good times with silvers, butt, maybe a king or 3. I'm looking for advice on charters and guides and lodging. Doesn't have to be plush, just warm, dry, good food and someone that knows how to catch fish safely. First time fishing out of Kodiak and don't know anyone there. Probably going to be a 2-3 person party.

    Thanks

You're on the split between reds in the fresh and silvers in the sea. Butts good. Silvers in sea early and iffy. Reds great if you ATV guided to get them. Dollies excellent in the fresh.

Personal e-mail to me at alskanauthor@verizon.net will lead to a telephone call with plenty of information. I live there six months out of the year and well represent a commuting angler via the ins and outs of what you seek...

For fishing charters in Kodiak city, I heard good fishing reports for Chazman charters on the C devil, Chris Fiala on the U-rascal, and Rick Baker, if you want to get off the beaten path check out my website, Kodiak is huge we are 70 nautical miles or 40 air miles south of the city in the village of Old Harbor, which is situated between sitkalidak island and Kodiak island.

Probably a good place to start is with a couple questions:

    1. What is your overall budget?

    2. Do you want to stay in Kodiak city itself, or are you open to an all-inclusive elsewhere?

Kodiak combos out of old harbor is the way to go in my opinion. They also have great lodge called the Old Harbor lodge. He fishes year round and has the kings dialed in! I highly recommend!
