Default AR 15 question...Windham alum. vs. Colt poly for winters...

Ok, bought a Windham .223 that was metal, not polymer... The guy said metal was better than poly due to our winters? Is this true? Just got a colt sporter light weight that is polymer....so, gotta decide and sell the other one!...

What part was poly vs. aluminum? If it was the lower receiver, Colt does no make one in poly. If you are talking about the handguard, Colt's poly handguard is the same as they put on the military grade M4 and it's more than good enough to take the punishment of cold weather. If I had to choose between Windham and Colt, I'd choose Colt every time.
