Hello fellow AOD members.

I am a ski patroller for Alyeska Resort down here in Girdwood and I am posting to invite you all to a charity auction we are having to benefit our avalanche dogs on Friday, January 25th.

This is the third time this auction has happened and its been getting bigger and bigger every year and we are trying to include more people in what is a really fun event.

The general theme is that people show up to bid on patrollers who dress up in costumes and horribly embarrass themselves on stage for 3-4 minutes; attempting to entertain the bidders. We have a professional auctioneer who will be running the bidding process at the end of each person's stage routine.

The benefit to the bidders is that if you should win you are awarded a morning of pre-public powder skiing for yourself and one (1) guest. You, your guest and your chosen patroller get to show up and ski on terrain chosen by Alyeska's snow safety department. You will get to enjoy untracked laps with only your small group on the terrain. A total of 10 patrollers will be auctioned off during the two hour event. This would make a great Valentines gift!

All money raised goes to a 501(c)3 non-profit fund that defrays the costs of raising these specialized dogs. Money is used for food and vet bills, continuing training, avalanche awareness, community outreach and much more.

This event will be held Friday, January 25th at 8pm at the Sitzmark Bar and grill. The vibe will be "Girdwood family friendly" meaning adult supervision is suggested for small children.

See below for photos of the dogs and the event poster.

Thanks for reading and we hope to see you there.
