    Default Lumber across the Border

Anyone ever hauls a pallet or two of lumber up the ALCAN. Was thinking of loading a ton of Cedar T&G and hauling up from Tacoma. I know they frown on Firewood not sure what they think of lumber nor did my searches find anything about it.

    Thanks

I don't think they will let any wood cross over the border into Canada for fear of bugs.

Additionally, there are likely to be import/export/tax issues, especially with lumber.

Call the border crossings office at Beaver Creek.

Canadian Border Crossing at Beaver Creek 1-867-862-7230 Canadian Customs

U.S. Customs at the border 1-907-774-2252 U.S. Customs Traverler Information

If they say no problem, I would ask for his name to use if there is later an issue.

I brought two units of cedar T and G 1"x6x 8' in my enclosed trailer with all my tools and appliances, then I shipped another 6 units up on common carrier, nothing was said and I had no problem getting it into and out of Canada. I had a manifest of the materials at the border. Showed it to the guard and he said Have a nice trip.
