    Default Retriever training

Are there any retriever classes coming up in or around Anchorage? It seems that every club's website is very much out of date.

I noticed the same thing earlier today, too. The link, to which Duckhunter01 refers is one of the "out of date" websites (Calendars and all news and events are 2012.) However, they did that class last year, so I hope they put it all together again this year. I heard it was a good experience, and I'm looking forward to it. (IF I can find any info on how to sign up, etc.)

There was a brief thread on the waterfowl forum, the alaska working retriever club is hosting training or you might try calling Baron as he is supposed to be doing some of the instruction. I will send you a PM with his number.

Class should start Feb 9th. The AWRC website should have a link on their homepage. A flyer should have further details. Call numbers listed for further details.
    Look forward to seeing everyone.

For those in the Interior, FRC will be holding training classes again this year. Online registration isn't up yet, but will be available later this month at http://fairbanksretrieverclub.org/classes.html Here is the schedule for classes:

    March 3, 10, 17, 24, and April 7 (indoors at Camp Li-Wa)
April 14, 21, 28 and May 5 (same classes continuing outdoors at the Chena Lakes Flood Control Project)

It's probably best to call one of the people listed on the flyer to find out more details. I know FRC limits the number of dogs in classes, but not sure about the Anchorage clubs.

Just discussed the class with them. Looks like we will start by using a hangar at Merrill Field. Feb 9th running 8am to about 1130. Sign up online should be up and coming. But if you don't get the online sign up don't worry about it. You can call any of the numbers listed and give your info. First day will be introduction and explanation of our training format with demonstrations. So bring something to take lots of notes.
The second following weekend schedule will be Beginner 8am til about 930. Advanced 930 to 1130. If class participation is large we will split the class into two separate groups at two different locations if needed.

Training class is this coming Saturday. Location 1707 Merrill Field Dr. Easiest is Lake Otis and 15th intersection. Turn into Merrill Field. Stay straight on that road without turning unto another. When the road ends it is on the right. Someone will be there to give further instruction.
    Thanks
