Default Remington Factory 405gr 45-70 loads

I have been looking, but can't seem to find any data to try to duplicate those mild loads. I'm good on full house loads, I just thought I might get the wife shooting it if I toned it down a little. Any info would be great.

There was an article in handloader mag about the 45/70. You might order a copy from there web site.

It's the august 2007 issue. Lots of loads listed with some pressure data.

    Thumbs up 45-70

Speer Manual list all 3 power levels in the 45-70

Suggest using the 350gr Hornady Round Nose or Flat Nose

This will help alot on recoil and still plenty to kill a bear or moose.

A good 350gr FN gas check Hard Cast makes a super bullet in the 45-70.
