    Default .44 Mag load for bear protection.

    What do you guys think is the best factory load you can buy for bear protection?

    I would go with the heaviest bullet you can find. And stay away from JHPs (jacketed hollow points). Since I quite shooting .44 Mags 20 years ago I am not up on their newest bullets, or latest new bullet designs. But with the new powders developed lately I am sure they have come a long way. Personally I carry a .454 Casull.

    I carry the Corbon 320's also. There may be better, but I'm confident with mine.
