    Default Sheep Hunt Video

Gents, if you catch a spare 10 minutes , chk out the video "Aleyska" on You Tube. One of the best I have seen. Interesting point: two buddies on the hunt. The amatuer videographer is a non-hunter that is apparently converted when he experiences the beauty of a high mntn AK sheep hunt. I do believe this dude has an incredible future making hunting videos if he decides to go that way. Video is pretty awesome IMO. Chk it out.

And plz say a prayer for the teachers and kids in CT.

Just a thought, but I'm not sure if you meant to spell Alyeska or if the video title was incorrect. One problem is searching for this there are many videos that come up as the term is in a lot of sheep hunting videos...

    Can you post a link?

Having hunted that permit this year too with my daughter I was really into that video. The sights and sounds brought back some great memories.

"There is no half way." I loved that quote.

The rock approaches reminded me of the vertical we incountered too.

I'll be in the mountains again................Goats, Deer, Sheep, whatever! 2013 will be a good one. I'm in the gym and maintaining some level of fitness already.

I liked the BOB sole on the guides boots. It looked like they were resoled boots of some type.

I'll add....I used light shelters and was always prepared to overnight should the situation dictate. I carried extra weight everywhere but it wasn't enough to limit my range or hunting capacity while in there. We also had bomber tents at the airstrip.

    That was a great video!

That was one of the best hunting videos I have ever seen. I sure enjoyed it and used to hunt that country years ago. The music played was very tasteful compared to alot of the head-banging music most want to use on hunting movies. Thanks for sharing that with us.

An absolutely excellent reflection on the true meaning of hunting and killing an animal in its own wild environment. Too bad the antis will never understand...

That may be the best hunting video I've seen. Its all about the experience, and not just capturing a kill shot. I really enjoyed it, thanks for sharing.

Don't limit that to just the antis. Look at some recent posts.

Very nice video. I see the Tikka T3 300WSM did the job.

Have you ever been sheep hunting? That proportion about captures it. Months (or years) spent planning, preparing, getting in shape, a week or more of hiking, climbing, surviving the weather, crossing rivers, followed by what may be only moments of excitement with a sheep in the crosshairs.

If one's definition of a good hunt tends heavily towards animal-based action, look elsewhere. Sheep hunting is an experience that sometimes has very little to do with a ram.

with all due respect you have no clue as to what sheep hunting is about.... and if it is about a kill and thats all you get out of it then I feel bad for you.. Sheep/mountain hunting is a very unique type of hunting thus all the groups and clubs, forums and threads dedicated to it. Sheep hunting is about pushing oneself to extreme limits both mentally and physically.. I have watched the strongest of men breakdown on these hunts and others find something within them selves to overcome adversity.. its oh so much more the a kill...

+1,, The mountains are my church and I seek them out not to find wild sheep,, but to find myself.
