    tyler, cheryl and dan shot the trifecta of scoters today: blacks,white wing and surfs. a few barrows and harlies rounded out the day

    Did you see any ole squaws? I need to study up on my scoter types again.......mostly so I don't shoot the ducks that are illegal......

    If that is the case, look up the eiders, there is no open season on Stellars and Spetacled eiders. Scoters are pretty easy to tell, they are black.

    That does indeed look like a good day! I have to get down there and hunt next year. I still need to find an old squaw.

    Ya - I know, just didn't put it into writing too well. I need to study the different scoter types and look at some pix of the eiders. I have seen one Spec out of Homer......almost smoked him, glad I didn't.

    I really want a Puffin on my wall................alas, they aren't legal either (inside joke).....

    Are there any puddle ducks left down there?

    It'll prolly be locked up and won't be able to get the boat out, but I am still getting excited about the trip.
