Thread: My first 2 lakers

    Default My first 2 lakers

Drove up the richardson today and caught my first 2 lakers through the ice. The first one was a long skinny thing, the second was a pig. I got the first one on a white tube jig with some herring on it, the 2nd one I caught with a big ridiculous jig I thought for sure nothing would bite. It was a large 6 inch soft plastic swimmer that I generally use while jigging for halibut also tipped with herring. They both hit at the bottom of the stroke like a freight train.

Nice lakers! Looks like you are getting them figured out, good luck on the rest of your trips out on the ice.

Nice job on getting redemption. That lake can be tricky because of its size. Did your fishing partner get anything or was he just the camera guy?

I brought my wife with me, she caught one about 22" or so. She was pretty upset when I released both those big fish until I explained to her that fish that large take 10+ years to get that big and only spawn every other year!
