That's pretty funny. However, talented as Boris is, I am compelled to point out that he doesn't know a "sh*t shovel" from shinola. Sorry, but I have to call a spade a spade... That AK was built from a spade, not a shovel.

If it doesn't have a point it's not a spade. He used a square point shovel.

Oh contraire; a spade is a digging tool which may have a square or or pointed configuration. A shovel by contrast is intended for scooping as opposed to digging. Pictured is a spade similar to the one used.
    Attachment 65895(spād)

    noun
    1. A sturdy digging tool having a thick handle and a heavy, flat blade that can be pressed into the ground with the foot.
    2. Any of various similar digging or cutting tools.
    transitive verb spad·ed, spad·ing, spades
To dig or cut with a spade.
    Origin:
    Origin: Middle English
Origin: , from Old English spadu

This type of spade is useful for edging, digging and dividing rhubarb, etc. And now, evidently, a serviceable AK-47 receiver/stock may be fashioned from one as well. My apologies for being so AR on the AK thread. Sometimes I just can't help it.

What is a spade or shovel is largely dependant on where you are from. Mostly the terms are interchangeable. Some say spades have short looped handles and shovels long non looped. Some say spades are pointed to dig holes in the ground and shovels move loose stuff around (scooping) so not pointed. There are countless exceptions to both rules . . . likely because it’s different names for the same thing. I’d also call it a shovel, a “scoop shovel” like the ones I spent so much of my youth shoveling cow and horse crap with.

Can we talk guns now? Cool sourcing of carbon steel on the cheap there but I think the guy is ADD . . . Smart as heck but too hyper to fully finish anything before moving on to the next step. So he ends up with a rifle so crude and homely even the Russians would have rejected it.
