Had nothing to do with the hunters. Dominate bears often chase subordinate bears up trees. The hunters just happen to be in the tree the lesser bear chose to run up. I always have food with me and have never had a problem.

I'm re-thinking my 20ft ladder stand now. Can't believe how fast he climbed that tree

That would have been a memorable moment! Years back I had a marten come up on the tree I was on, reach around, and sniff right at my ear. I was about hoping he'd step on my shoulder, but he decided I smelled bad or something and left. I've had a sow threaten me, and I've had bears next to me in trees, but never one in my lap like that.
So are full body harnesses and lanyards a good thing or bad when a bear is in the same tree as you?

Cool video! I would think the harness was the only thing that kept the one guy from leaning out too far and falling out of his stand, looked like a ways down to the ground. That bear might have been too close for a bow shot, but not a pistol.

I just kept having a picture run through my head. Ever tease a cat w/ something on the end of a string? I'd hate to be the toy on the end of that one.

    Chooot it!!!
We do not go to the green woods and crystal waters to rough it, we go to smooth it. We get it rough enough at home; in towns and cities; in shops, offices, stores, banks anywhere that we may be placed

I'm envisioning a outdoors Piñata if dangling from a harness while the bears are around with food on the mind.
