Made in US, assembled in Portugal. Quality will likely remain the same, but Lordy how folks around here raise cane about Japanese Winchesters. So if you want one we have 300s, 338s, and 375s 4 total I believe.

Straight from the mouth of a longtime Winchester rep. Likely be seeing a release soon. And if you cant stand a Winchester from anywhere else, better come by and get while the gettins good.

Too much overhead to build anything in the U.S. anymore with taxes, EPA, health care mandates, energy costs, and so on and everyone’s margins are trimmed to the point even American made Twinkies are history now. They are required by contract to build the military stuff here or that too would be gone outside.

Picked up my 375 this evening from my neighborhood shop. Wish I'd picked up a box of Twinkies when I could. They'd last about as long as the Winny.

I know that we all want to buy American made stuff, but I don't think it's necessary to have a baby over this news. They will still be US made technically, just assembled elsewhere, I'd be willing to bet quality suffers zero with the move, nothing wrong with the HiPowers put together over there. I'd rather have a nice Portugese assembled M70, that shoots, than some of the turds that came out of New Haven toward the end.
