    Default mods, sticky proposal

It had been discussed in recent group meetings, and this seemed an important, and far reaching outlet for this. There are many outdoor activities in Alaska that take place on, or with the use of watercraft. I think a list of folks who would be willing and able to help some of the fellow forum members in their time of need would be a great resource. I was very lucky to have a member lend me a hand, and in the "pay it forward" line of thinking, a list of folks with area knowledge and a contact number would be great.volunteer of course.
    To start:

Maud road lakes, little su, and.rabbit slough areas.

Please delete if not okay, just seems like good idea. Powerboat and canoe forums would be equally good, as well as waterfowl.thanks.

Don H I like your idea of a call list and a group of guys that share contact info. A sort of emergency call list if you have it. Are you thinking of organizing it through AWA? If so, lets sort out the details at the December 10 meeting. I think that would be a good "First" project for the club and do a service to all. Are you offering to be "the keeper of the list" and work out how we manage it? Duckdon

I was pretty sure Bud collected info on whoever showed up at the ER meeting. Will assume you are talking about consolidating all these and AWA on one master list. Could probably easily then have little cards made and laminated etc..

This could be a service provided by AWA but don't believe it needs to be or should be limited to AWA members. Should be a service for all inland boaters, jet boats and airboats, anything on the rivers, tidal areas and swamps. Bud

I like this idea ! I think once we get our website updated we can make a list like this on it and people can choose if they want their info on there. Everyone has a smartphone these days and most of the local areas have data coverage and it could be accessed!

Could you shoot me a PM on this? I'm a little confused as to what you're looking for.

    Thanks!

Default Here is a example of what might work for us

    http://www.southernairboat.com/phpBB...forum.php?f=32

I am pretty active on this Florida website. I would urge everybody to take a look at the above link. It seems to work pretty well in Florida, and could also work here. I think it could easily be expanded from the orgional idea and we could break down Alaska into many different areas statewide. We could also urge all types of users to sign up, not necessarly duck hunters only. Anybody who runs the rivers anyplace in the state in any type of boat should be able to log onto here and find somebody in their area. We could even cover near costal vessels as well as inland areas. When you open the above link, click on a specific area and you will see those people in that area who posted the area they are willing to cover and what equipment they have to do a rescue. Bud

Sorry guys, i forgot that you need to sign in to access this. take a look at the layout, they show different areas of Florida (and the world listed) and then the number of post submitted and the number of views. All somebody that is a member has to do is click on the area they are stuck in and a list of people who have said they would come help in that area pops up, with phone numbers and other information. Bud
