Default A boner in the bush.

I just started reading one of a series of Russell Annabel books and kinda stole this idea from him. I started thinking about my days as an asst guide back in the "80s" and remembering all the dumb things that happened to me and I"m pretty sure that I"m not the only one "things" have happened to.Like my first hunt on Kodiak when I had to coughup $300.00 more bucks so we could move up from a wiggen to a goose because my buddys brought too much extra crap.Of course I was the only one with any extra cash. I was the one with the bear permit. We had a good hunt, I got my bear and we shot some pretty nice bucks, got some crab and caught some silvers, I do think it would be hard to starve down there in the fall. The day we were going to be picked up we tore down camp and packed it all down to the beach and sat on our gear all afternoon watching planes fly over untill about dark when we packed everything back off the beach and set the tent back up and went to bed. They did come in the next day saying something about how bad the weathewr was in town.(Blue sky where we were) I heard theres a lodge down in Deadman bay. Hal Waugh"s turning over in his grave on that one. One of my first guided hunts I did was a moose hunt in the Chugaches. I spotted a nice bull with a couple of cows and a bullwinkle down in some cottonwoods by a creek and the hunt was on. After a textbook stalk we ended up down wind 50 yds behind a big cottonwood. As I peered around the tree there stood the big bull sniffing one of the cows so with a big smile I took my hunter by the shoulders and pushed him around the tree telling him to shoot. Imagine my surprise when I looked around the tree just in time to see mister bullwinkle hit the ground.I got to guide that client for free the next year.Thats just a couple of mine, how about yours? Ron.
