    Default Hare?

I am not a trapper, but my boy has reading the blog and asking all kinds of questions. My question to you is can I set snares for hare under a hunting license or does it require a trapping license? Looking to make a weekend of doing something new.

i believe a hunting license only covers projectiles! trapping license was 15 bucks i think on its own

no trapping license needed to snare hares.

But my humble opinion is to support the trapping in this state and just fork over $15 for the experience.

As excited about this as my boy is getting I will be forking over alot more than $15. I am shaking my head now on what will happen if we score even one wabbit.

They are yummy, and well worth the effort. Somebody smart will chime in, but you should be able to just get some wire and make a snare. Light stainless safety wire is strong enough if you happen to have any. It won't take much. Good luck to both of you,

You set a snare for Hare and catch a Fox? Play it safe get a trapping licsense. Then read the trapping regs and learn there is a whole new world out there.

Goog job dad.. I remember my interest as a lad..my ol'man spent 50 bucks..got me a dozen longspring number 2s and off I went. A week later I was selling those coons and bought a dozen more...lol

I would never have enjoyed the sport of trapping if he had not taken the time to get me started.

I support the idea of spending 15bucks..picking up a couple of legholds as well..get them involved if possible.

    Thanks..and post some pictures..sure there will be a smile a mile wide..lol
