Default Good choice for a cabin rental to fish early Aug.

We are coming to Anchorage for a week the first weekend in august and are looking at renting a cabin on one of the rivers for the silver/pink/ or red run. There will be 5-6 of us and are mainly wanting a place to catch some fish, relax, and see some of Alaska. We had considered doing a fly out 5 day float but some of us don't want to spend that much time rafting. Ideally we are looking for an unguided trip with cabin and boat rentals to do it ourselves.
Just wanting to know what our options are.
    Thanks,
    Jon

Rust's has an alexander creek cabin that may fit the bill www.flyrusts.com no reds though.
I choose to fly fish, not because its easy, but because its hard.

Did quick check of FS cabins (recreation.gov):

e.g., I see Nellie Martin cabin is available that period (fly from Seward, tidally-restricted landing). outstanding fishing.

everything driveable from anch area pretty much booked already. good luck

    Thumbs up Try Lake Creek

Hi jon, Check out Lake Creek, (alaskamagic.com) There is some awsome fishing there at that time. It is a fly out but worth every penny. I own and operate a lodge there and do have cabins and boats to rent, check out the site and drop me a line....................Magic
