    What is a 30cal TAT???

    Just pay somebody to cut it on a lathe, It'll work out much better.

    Yes, you will never get threads concentric to the bore or a shoulder true 90 degrees to the bore with anything but a lathe.

    If I were a betting man Andy I'd say the gentleman is going to thread an AK barrel. I know I'm not the machinist you are but I haven't figured a GOOD way to get one in a lathe. That and I cannot recall how to cut lefthand threads right off hand, never had to do it.

    To cut left you just feed it the other direction from whatever your RH threading setup is, everything else is the same. I havenít messed with many AKs but thereís always some way to spin something, some stuff is a lot harder though. With the fine Soviet block precision of an AK squinty eyed guesstomation may be plenty close enough too.
