    Default Juneau-area Coyotes

Who's seen coyotes off the Juneau road system and where? ADF&G is spotty on information about where they've been seen, and for the life of me I've never seen one on the many drives I've taken. Any thoughts on best spots out of town?

The video on DFG's site is mine. I saw that one at about Bridget Cove, but in the past few years, they've seen quite commonly around the Lena area.

The only one I've ever seen was out by Tee Harbor. I found a set of tracks I think were coyote along the Herbert river last spring as well.

3 years ago I saw one on sunny point road at about 4:30 in the morning. Same year I saw one up the tram above the cross. Last year while hunting the backside of Douglas near Outer Pt I saw coyote tracks in the snow. Two summers ago when they were re-doing the road by Eagle Beach the flagger told me she had seen a few while she was working.
I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

Sounds like they can be basically anywhere, and everywhere.

That pretty much sums it up. I've never heard them at night so I dont' think numbers are particularly high.

That and they don't seem to be as vocal when they live among wolves at least out this way. I get one or two a year and in 30 yrs here I have never heard one but have heard plenty of wolves and yes I know the difference

If you were going to call them, where'd be your spot?
