well since i broke one of my trap triggers i made a trigger that looks like this. Have any of you guys used this type of trigger in the past? I was worried that the fast movement of the trap might grab the animal the wrong way with the trigger and possibly poke a hole in the hide. I bought those metal pans to place on my 120's but bending the triggers on my first one broke the trigger. So i decided that that was not going to work, and did some looking online and found this.

Have used them successfully on dry land, blind trail sets for mink. If you don't like the coni-pans, try tying a trip wire (or fishing line) between the regular body grip triggers after spreading them wide.

What I do is this. Flatten the tips with a hammer, mark with a center punch, and drill a small hole ( I think my bit is 1/16"). Spread the wires where you want them, and run a piece of fine wire, I use brass 22 or 24 guage, 2 or 3 strands. Works good for mink, marten and on 220's set for otters too.
