    Default lure question

Do any of you guys place lure in petroleum jelly to make it freeze proof and go a little further? If you do what types of lures do you do that with?

Some people melt the vaseline and then add pure skunk quill, then pour it into a container. Works for marten and is the same thing as Northwest predator controls " Magnum Marten ". I'm not a big fan of the vaseline in cold weather and there's better lures out there but some seem to like it..........

Have used the melted vaseline with ground beaver castor before and it works ok. Only drawback is, the vaseline encapsulates the odor molecules at below zero temps and seems to reduce the available scent. Of course, animals have a much better sense of smell than humans, so maybe they (the animals) can still smell your lure just fine, even when we can't.
