    Dear Alaska Hunter:

According to our records, in previous years you have applied for big gamedrawing hunts through our online application program. If you are planning onapplying for hunts again this year, we are writing to provide you importantinformation about changes that are occurring this year.

    1. The application period has changed. Applications must be submitted between November 1 and December 17 at 5:00 PM Alaska Standard Time. Please note that the end of the application period is earlier than last year.

    1. Beginning this year hunters will be permitted to apply for up to six (6) moose drawing hunts, however, no more than three of the applications can be for hunts that include harvest of bull moose. This change will allow hunters to apply for additional hunts that are antlerless only hunts. The antlerless only hunts are identified in the Drawing Hunt Supplement by a different color in the hunt number column. You may use all six of your hunt choices for antlerless hunts. Only the bull moose hunts are limited to three choices. The order that moose hunts are listed on the application still determines your preference for receiving a particular hunt. You are still allowed to win only one moose drawing hunt.

    1. A telephone help line, specifically for the drawing hunt applications, will be available this year for hunters that do not have internet access and are unable to apply online. The telephone number for assistance is 907-267-2895. Staff will be available 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday from November 1 through December 17 to help with your application.

To ensure that your application will be successfully entered into thedrawing, we strongly encourage you to apply early, particularly if you use thehelp desk to assist with your application and need to send payment through themail. All applications must be completed by 5:00 PM on December 17 to beeligible for the drawing and anything mailed must be postmarked by December 17and received by January 2, 2013.

To apply online go to hunt.alaska.govand click on “Buy Licenses & Tags”. The drawing hunt supplement isavailable through the “Highlights” section on this page.

For general hunting information or information on specific hunts, pleasecall a wildlife service center in the area of the hunt.

Yeah, got two of them today.

Also heard about that other email that tells hunters they can increase their odds by sending small bills to a PO box in Wasilla. Of course I know nothing, I repeat nothing (think Sgt. Shultz), about that one.

Yeah, I got that one too. Funny part is, it reminded me to apply for my tags. Once I did I got an email stating that I was selected to TMA sheep, Delta Bison, and Kodiak bear. Gonna be a fun year!

Do you know how much money draw tags generate?!?

OF COURSE they're going to send a reminder for all our Annual Donations!

This is only one of many ways they have gotten the information out about that phone number.
