Default Portage Glacier Black Bear ...

Here are a couple of shots of Portage Glacier topped off with a black bear. I took this photo last Summer. It made the cover of the Anchorage Daily News.

    Default great pictures

Seeing that bear like that must have been great. I doubt that image will ever fade over time, great photo

Camera? Never leave home without it!

Thanks for all of the nice comments. I wish I had a longer lens for that shot ...Eventually.

The skipper of the boat stated that he had only seen a bear on Portage a couple of times in over 6000-runs to the glacier.

That was a really fun day.

My wife and I made a run out to Denali National Park yesterday, made a few passes through and got back home by 2:am this morning. We saw a lot of caribou, dall sheep, ptarmigan, Hares and missed a wolf by 20-minutes.

    ARRRRRG!
