    Default CCW Question

    Going for my CCW Permit next month and would like to practice up on my shooting. What are the distances and the passing score for the range shooting part of the course? Thanks👍🔫

    Standard body silhouette.

    The qualification is a 36 round drill. Starting from the 3 yard line and continuing from the 7 and 15 yard distances. There is a total possible score of 360 points with a passing score being a minimum of 252 points (70%) and higher.
    We do not go to the green woods and crystal waters to rough it, we go to smooth it. We get it rough enough at home; in towns and cities; in shops, offices, stores, banks anywhere that we may be placed

    My wife passed without EVER shooting my .45acp until the day of the class. She decided to attend the class the day before it started.

    AS 18.65.790. Definitions.
    In AS 18.65.700 ‐ 18.65.790,
    (1) "commissioner" means the commissioner of public safety;
    (2) "competence" means the ability to place in a life size silhouette target
    (A) seven out of 10 shots at seven yards;
    (B) six out of 10 shots at 15 yards;

    Some instructors may only require 20 shots, while some incorporate a greater element of shooting instruction. You should ask the person teaching the course you will be taking.
