When do they start their migration out of their winter habitats?

Whenever the temps warms up consistently from winter cold. So, they are more then likely moving around now. But, right after hibernation, they usually go after roots gasses and sedges rather then congregating on the streams before the fish runs start. BUT, you'll probably see some, especially blackies.

They are definitely on the move. Glad we have a fenced and locked garbage area, two sets of tracks down the driveway this am. Tracy came in and dragged me of the couch to verify that they were bear tracks, she's really excited too see them, there appearance means the salmon are not far off.:D
