    Default Todays Photo Venture

Went to Granite Creek this morning looking for photo op's, the creek just past sutton. went for a great hike but found no inspiration or new challenges so i thought i would share some throwaways to illustrate the importance of two filters needed for landscapes, the polarizer and the neutral density.
Heres a self portrait, it was cold, especially when your right boot fills with glacier water because your trying to get the perfect low angle shot.

Here is the polarizer that saturates and reduces glare, and this is what happens when you try to handhold a 52mm filter on a 58mm lens at the same time use the self timer and handhold a neutral density filter all at the same time. I did have some that turned out ok.

And here is handholding a Lee 2 stop split Neutral density filter. you can see the 2 stop difference in the lower left corner. I shot about 40 frames today and nothing moved me so I will venture out again soon,

Crop the bottom half of the third picture and you can turn a throwaway into a keeper.
