Default Interior Grizz-Kotzebue or North Slope?

Just looking for advice... If you had your choice would you do a Caribou hunt out of Kotz or up on the North Slope and expect the best chances for an opportunity Grizz????

    Thanks

I have seen Grizzly bears everywhere I have found Caribou. So your choice, areas that are open with some elevation will make spotting and hunting them easier.

Was up in Kotz the first of Sept. for work and ended up sitting around talking to one of the local flight operators. He was saying the moose population on a number of rivers in the areas has been steadily dropping and the bear population quickly growing. I've heard the same from a couple other people I know who hunt up there every season. One report was eleven bears over just a few days. Give a call to a couple of the local transporters, they would probably be more than happy to drop you into a couple of there areas that are being overtaken by the bears.

    Steveo:

My back yard for sure. Look at the lower Noatak as an option. I have had a number of Caribou clients who have taken nice Griz on their hunts. Unit 23 qualifies as Griz but our bears are truly costal as they feast upon salon thus making them mush larger than Nort Slope Griz. And we would love to have all of you guys take a few home for us!
