    Default karluk river steele

    I have never fished the Karluk and was wondering if any one had any tips? 12mill beads? what kind of flies work well and any thing else you can think of. thanks

    beads and yarn both work just fine. from portage down a couple of miles there are a lot of steelhead that winter over. The river is world class water for skating dry flys and swinging wets. the common patterns such as comets, egg sucking leaches, skykomish, bombers, etc.. all work. In my experience the water can get cold in late october and If it does I move more towards beads and yarn.

    Nice fish. Dolly has some nice colors.
