    Default Forum help/Rep Message?

Hey guys, this is the only forum I've ever been involved with, and I still don't know how to use/operate many of its features. I had received a "rep message", or something of that nature in my inbox and clicked on it to see what it was all about. One click too many, and I lost where I was, what the message was, and who it was from. Any tips on how to dredge up lost/misplaced messages on here? And what exactly is a "rep message"? I've got an idea, but don't know precisely what it does, or what having lots of rep messages might enable me to do or access on the forum, if that makes any sense? Much appreciated. And if you sent me said message, please resend, or PM me. I can handle PM-ing .

A rep message is nothing more than a comment made by whoever added to your "reputation". It's still waiting for you somewhere - try checking out the page that has your "profile". You get rep points when another forum member clicks on the * beneath your forum name & pic. When the * is clicked, the clicker gets the option of supplying a reason for the rep point.

This isn't exactly the most intuitive user interface on the planet - if you want to take a look at your rep messages, look under "Settings." No, I have no idea why.

The green bars above your avatar; Do they indicate number of posts, time as a member, or rep messages received? Let me guess: A combination of the above?

The green boxes show how much reputation you have received.

100 percent correct; it is a combination of all those things.

    Actually, just rep... http://forums.outdoorsdirectory.com/...m-Now-In-Place

The amount of rep "power" you dish out is a combo of those things, but the greenie bling is just rep. Once you accumulate 5 dark green boxes and 6 light green boxes, you become a "one-percenter" and can go no further.

Good call JOAT - you're right; I did confuse outbound rep with green boxes.
