The Wrangell area is known for fish first and foremost, then bear, deer, and goats. If moose tops your list, you may want to look elsewhere.

We have moose and most hunt them up the stikeen river. Deer are number one for the area. The thing about south east and Wrangell with a boat there are thousands of island to hunt and no one lives on 95% of them.

    jpryan1995...question for you......

Was your original thread-starting question, Best In The World, about the southeastern Alaska town of Wrangell on the coastal rain forested Wrangell Island?

Or were you attempting to obtain information about the fabulous Wrangell Mountain area which includes Americas largest national park, Wrangell St Elias National Park and preserve? This hugh and fantastic area is roughly between Slana and Tok to the north and McCarthy and historic Kennecott Mine to the south. Both north and south of the "hard park" are very fine hunting opportunities for sheep, grizzly bear, black bear, moose, wolf, along with some goat.

And commenting on the title of your thread.....(The) Best In The World?
Wherever your hunting at the moment IS the best in the world. Like Stephen Stills sang in 1970, Love The One Your With..............
Imagine (It's easy if you try)
…miles and miles of mountains…wide expanses of tundra...remote wild waters…
