    Default chasing chum

I`ll be chasing chum salmon at the Esther Island Hatchery---they take all the kinks out of my line left from winter.

Hopefully I'll be on a plane out of the middle east. I might even make it out before that, if so I'll be on an Italian beach drinking beer and enjoying the customary beach attire of Italian women (one piece entirely located below the navel) when my girlfriend isn't watching.

    Default Homer

I'll be in Homer fishing kings and halibut, with time off the boat spent either hitting the fishing hole, casting off the end of the spit, or tossing some bait off the shore somewhere between Anchor Point and Deep Creek in search of those "surf halibut" I've been hearing about. I love that area of Alaska in May. Can't wait.

Isn't The Kings River cataloged as a anadromous river for the spanning of coho's? And, therefore it would be illegal to do so. I can't remember the fine for doing so.

Talking Where am I ? Why not in Fairbanks?

I will be down at Ninilchik with my son and 4 other fellows, We are headed down from Fairbankson our annual trip. We will be staying and heading out with Heavenly Sites Charter this is a great outfit. This will be my sons last trip for awhile since he will be heading for the Airforce in August he better get a big butt. Then I will introduce the Greenhorns to combat fishing! They at least have to see it. Tight Lines to all who travel!

there are mining trails all across this state, and most of them cross water. i have never fished kings river, nor have i heard of anyone else fishing it. and anyways, theres lots of hunters who take their atv's across that water to get to their bait stands.

    Default True

True there are a lot of trails in the state. But that does not mean that someone placed them there before the law went into affect or before the territory became a state. Either way, the river is listed and so is the law. There are some state designated crossing sites like back in the Peters Creek Recreational Mining area there are two I know of.

I just wanted to let you know of the law. Some people don't know it and get into trouble. Like the two guys who shot a record brown and registered it. F&G flew over, saw 4-wheeler tracks in the stream. They lost the record and gained a whole bunch of fines.

Just FYI...... do as you wnat.

I'll be fishing in Homer on the 23rd and 24th, and working critical care at Providence Hospital for the remainder of the time. We like to practice during the Memorial Day weekend for the upcoming combat fishing season, as well as getting ready for the anticipated influx of outdoorsmen from the lower-48 who still believe that Alaska is the world's largest zoological park. H-h-m-m-m ....... it should be another fascinating summer.

To satisfy my curiosity, what are the common injuries from combat fishing?
